Aurora Alderman Rick Lawrence received the 2008 Award of Excellence in Government from the Illinois State Crime Commission at the “Salute to Those Who Make a Difference” banquet in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois on Wednesday, June 11th before hundreds of leaders across from government, law enforcement, business, labor and public.
“Along with our police and community, we have worked together on important issues. This special honor is shared with the people of Aurora and we appreciate the recognition of those efforts by the Illinois State Crime Commission. I am committed to the people of Aurora to continue to work with the community, law enforcement, demand excellence in government with the goal to make Aurora a better place to live for all families” said Rick Lawrence.
The event was hosted by WLS-AM 890 radio talk show host Roe Conn and included a wide range of attendees, including public officials, business members, community members and law enforcement from Aurora and the surrounding area.
The Illinois State Crime Commission is the largest organization committed to combating public corruption and strengthening the Illinois criminal justice system in the state. The membership and board of directors comprise many of the state’s most influential leaders in government, law enforcement, education, labor, business and in public policy.
